Change is good + Happy Birthday QTC

Hey there, internet friends! How’s life? πŸ™‚

Questionable Tortoise Couture turned two years old on August 11th. I can’t believe my little baby blog has become a big girl blog. They grow up so dang fast.

I know what you’re thinking: “Bekah, why has it taken you over a month to sit down and write a birthday blog post?”

Well you see, a little thing called life happened. Also, school happened. I also got addicted to Stranger Things and quit dance.

You heard it here first, folks. Bekah the ballerina has left the building. Well, she’s actually on a hiatus. You must refer to her as Bekah the XC runner from now on. No, I don’t like that. It doesn’t have the same ring to it. You can just continue calling me Bekah.

I have experienced a lot of change in the past month or so. It has been hard, but I realize that change is good.

Making the transition from dance to Cross Country has been interesting. I thought I would want to dance forever, but I was wrong. It’s a strange feeling when you fall out of love with something you’ve always known.

In a sense, running XC instead of dancing full time has been easier on my mind, but not really on my feet. I have a nasty blister on my foot that I’ve named Mr. Darcy. I call him that because he is a stubborn little thing that doesn’t respond well to treatment. My mother does not approve of that name, so please leave me some name recommendations in the comment section. Please.

UPDATE: At the time I had written this post, Mr. Darcy was still pretty infected. I am happy to announce that he is all better now.

I’ve waited to write this blog post for many reasons.

The first reason being the fact that I didn’t possess the brain capacity to write it in August, the second reason is because watching Stranger Things with my mom takes up all of my free time (not complaining. I love you mommy!), and the third reason being that life gets in the way.

I love and adore ALL of my readers! That’s right, I mean YOU! I have had the pleasure of meeting the sweetest little beans on the internet because of this blog, and for that I am so grateful.

My readers, thank you for being there. Thank you for your sweet emails and DMs. You have no idea how much those mean to me! Each and every one of you deserve the world. ❀

What’s next?

I am not exactly sure. I’m just trying to go with the flow and not plan everything out. As for now, I’ll continue writing ~hilarious~ blog posts and simply being a high school sophomore. Planning for college? Ain’t nobody got time for that.

Why did I stop dancing?

Simply put, I quit because it was taking up too much time. I was in the studio for eight hours everyday for almost the entire summer, which really took a toll on my body and mind. By the time August rolled around, I was burned out. I had fallen out of love with a sport I used to enjoy. Dance used to be my escape – now I am trying to escape from dance.

The moral of the story?

Go do whatever the heck you want and don’t let anyone stop you, unless they’re your parents. You should never disobey your parents, my dudes.

No, seriously. Go do what you want. Try something new, and see where it takes you!

It is time for me to say farewell.

Excuse me while I finish my bowl of Cheerios.

As always, thanks for reading! Readers keep this blog alive. Feel free to share this post via social media or with a friend.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY QTC!! πŸ’—πŸ₯³

Hang in there! Dance is so beautiful because it is an art as well as a sport. Even if you don’t stick with it, I promise you’ll never regret the time you spent taking class. πŸ˜‰

  3. Happy birthday QTC!! Aww it’s so sad when you fall out of love with something you thought you were gonna do forever right? But that’s life and you’re right, do what you want. Sometimes trying new things can give us some very unexpected results πŸ˜‰
