#WAKEUPANDWATCH|| Why The World NEEDS More Anne With An E

Let’s cut to the chase:

A few weeks ago, I made a post about why I love the Netflix series Anne With An E.

The comment section was filled with mixed feelings. A lot of you said this:

• It’s too different from the books

• The 1980’s version was way better

• The casting was terrible

• Too many new characters were added

• I don’t agree with some of the characters lifestyles

But others, like myself, had nothing but praise for this ground-breaking reimagining of L.M. Montgomery’s classic tale.

“It is not what the world holds for you. It is what you bring to it”

– Anne

The creators, cast, and fans are trying to get Anne With An E approved for a third season.

I honestly cannot bear the thought of possibly never getting to visit the world of Anne, Gilbert, Matthew, Marilla, and others. I just can’t bear it.

“Bekah, they’re fictional characters in a fictional world! Get over it”

– Probably most of you right now

But these characters are so freaking relatable that they sort of become real to me.

(Go ahead and put me in the insane asylum)

For those of you who refuse to watch this show because they “changed sooooo many things”, let me share with you a piece of information:

Before you go shunning something different than what you’re used to, at least give it a chance.

We live in a world where we are constantly encouraging each other to be open minded and accepting. Can’t we apply the same rule to a television show?

Try watching more episodes, and don’t think of this as the Anne Of Green Gables your grandma introduced you to. It’s just not gonna work.

To be perfectly honest, I find that Amybeth Mcnulty portrays Anne more naturally than Megan Follows.

Oh, and while we’re on the topic of the character comparisons, let me tell ya something:

The original Gilbert Blythe is kind of a butt.

Now on the other hand, Lucas Jade Zumann perfectly portrays the swoon-worthy gentleman.

I think it really depends on what you’re exposed to first.

For instance, I had never read Anne Of Green Gables before watching Anne With An E, so when I tried to read the book and watch the 1980’s movies, I couldn’t finish either of them.

It was so strange without the added characters like Jerry, Bash, and Cole. THOSE ARE MY BABIES.

I’ll leave you with this:

The world needs more Anne With An E for it’s empowerment, inclusiveness, diversity, and positivity. We don’t need another negative source in this world, so why not give it a chance?

If you want MORE AWAE, please share this post and spread the word as much as possible. The world needs this show.

We literally only have about two weeks to get enough viewers in order to be approved for a third season.

Whether you like this show or not, please share this post via re-blog, Pinterest, or Instagram.

  1. You’re so awesome! Love this post! Love AWAE!! I totally second your opinion on how we, as a society, are always preaching about being more accepting. So why not with this show, as well? It’s not supposed to be like this original. We need more AWAE!! Love that Gilbert is a gentleman from the start. Love the parent relationship between Anne and Mathew. He, especially, is a fantastic actor!
This show just brings so much to the screen. I truly hope we get another season!!

  2. Anne with an E is a great show! I hope season 3 gets approved! I totally think that most of the shows on Netflix are PG-13 and up, so this show is great for people who aren’t allowed to watch PG-13/PG-14 shows! I think it’s a great show for all ages!
