How-to successfully keep a journal in 2018

Woah. I seriously almost put 2017 in the post title…

Hello, world! How are you doing today?

If you’ve ever kept a journal, you already know the struggle…

Keeping a journal is hard work! We usually write in it at the end of the day, but by then, our brains are tired and frazzled. You tell yourself you’ll do it tomorrow, but then the memories of the day before aren’t fresh in your brain.

How can we fix this?

Never fear, there are solutions…

How-to successfully keep a journal in 2018.

1. Take it as it comes…

Sometimes we just need to cut ourselves some slack. If it doesn’t happen, don’t worry! Nothing happens out of God’s plan. Absolutely nothing…

2. Make it happen

Okay, does this totally go against that last one? 😅 Seriously. If you want it to happen, MAKE IT HAPPEN. You can do this by:

• Writing it on a Post-It note and stick it somewhere you’ll see it

• Setting an alarm

• Ask a friend or family member to help you remember

3. Loving what you write in

Believe it or not, this actually works! My adorable journal. IT HAS DINOSAURS WEARING MONOCLES AND EATING ICE-CREAM ON IT! Some awesome places to find cute journals:

• Target (check the Dollar Spot)

• Hobby Lobby

• Staples

• Office Depot

• Walmart

• Ollie’s bargain outlet

4. Starting small

When beginning a journal, start with one that doesn’t have a zillion pages. My last journal I filled had 190 pages. As you can imagine, that took forever to fill. My current journal is 80 pages, so I should be able to fill it by the end of the year.

• Do you keep a journal?

• Was this post helpful to you?

• Do you like monocle wearing, ice-cream eating dinosaurs?
